Biography:

In Haiti, hundreds of churches are pastored by untrained men.  Preachers get up in front of a small congregation and talk about the Bible. But too often they have no idea what they are talking about. They have zeal without knowledge. Most Bible schools in Haiti require a high school education for admittance, which eliminates most of the people from the rural mountain areas.
Two decadres ago Lucien Saul had an idea.  Why not provide a quality education to men who have no opportunity for training, but do it on their level?  The SALEM Bible Institute was born.  During the late 1980s, the 1990s, and the first half of this decate, hundreds of men have come to Bassin from all over Haiti. The SALEM classes meet for four weeks in August.  A diploma is granted when a student completes the entire four-year cycle of classes.  Lucien Saul is assisted by his son, Royden, who is a student at Bob Jones University, and by a staff of qualified teachers.
Student testimonies indicte that the training they received at the SALEM Bible Institute is life-changing. Many have said something such as this: "I has no idea I was teaching error. I was doing the best I knew how, but is was not good. Now I know how to rightly divide the Word of God. This training will help me to be faithful to the teachings of the Bible."
A new multi-purpose building is currently under construction at Bassin. This building is greatly needed for chapel services and for meals. Lucien Saul does not currently have any place where the entire student body can meet.
The minsitry of the SALEM Bible Institute is worthy of you prayer and financial support. Yes, these men, even with little education, can preach the Word effectively!
